Normalization at the front of the fight against SARS-COV-2

ISO CASCO and PKN share their resources

The SARS-COV-2 pandemic persists, which is why it is so important to keep social distance and equip yourself with the necessary personal protective equipment and / or medical devices. Of course, we are talking about class I medical devices, i.e. medical masks or gloves. The entire standardization “world” has also joined the fight against the effects of the pandemic. The international organization CASCO – the ISO Committee on Conformity Assessment, dealing with issues related to certification systems on an international scale, already in April published 29 standards on its website, which are intended to help manufacturers adapt their production processes to the requirements standards dedicated to medical devices and personal protective equipment. All standards are available for free -> link, in read-only format. ISO CASCO was also followed by a national standardization body – the Polish Committee for Standardization, which is responsible in Poland for the organization of standardization activities. It published a list of 39 standards for medical devices and personal protective equipment, available for free distribution during the fight against SARS-COV-2 -> link. In the case of Polish standards, it is required to order them on your own company print, which must contain the following information:

• ordering data,
• Polish Standards numbers (from the list of standards for free distribution during the fight against SARS_COV-2),
• e-mail address to which the ordered publication should be sent,
• statement on the purpose of the standards.
